Design is not enough

Design is no longer enough to meet the fine taste of architects, interior designers, industry executives and customers. A new eclectic taste is leading its way in the interior design industry, as the result of choosing and mixing furnishings with some affinities. However, what is closer to the design world than all that arts&crafts that since is inception have been accompanying it, such as art, collecting and modern antiques? The skill to find the harmonious match for pieces coming from all these different areas increasingly intrigues people. Magazine articles on eclectic-style interiors are countless, as well as people dreaming to match their family-inherited old credenza with the sofa seen at the last Milan International Furniture Exhibition. There is nothing more difficult to put it in practice. But, don't panic! In fact, the most important international exhibitions like the Art Basel, Design Miami, and DesignDays in Dubai have already realized that and started mixing, with excellent results, unique pieces, limited editions and design products.

Also, the Art Galleries have embraced this new trend, first came the Parisian Kreo exhibiting vintage design, collectors' and limited edition pieces. More showrooms are on their way too, like Eklekta, the Beirut's Store opening on next May 23rd. Eklekta, in addition to prove with the naming the consecration to its style, skilfully combines rare collecting and modern vintage pieces with unique pieces of art and design.

Matrix International furnishings are part of this rich selection and perfectly fit with the new store vast and bright spaces. A line of recovered wooden chairs guide the clients through the “living” space, where the Eero Saarinen's SA32-SA33 sofa, together with an old wooden small table and the Lotti Asaimi paintings, reminding of oriental weaves, welcome them. Smoothly passing from an ambiance to the other, the client may discover the classic tables of the Matrix collection, like the Saarinen's SA59/1, and the recent Yspider of Massimo Imparato and Ranieri Massola.

All is held together by “warm” elements, like furnishings, flower pots, and mirrors, combined with subtle colours and renowned authors' paintings. The mix is so well designed that, for a moment, the client feels like he is inside a proper house, not a showroom. We reveal some pictures of the space before the official opening, where you can find all the Matrix products and get some hint for your house.
