A Midsummer Exhibition Dream

Imagine a sofa and an armchair that we can adjust to suit our needs, that are not just a monolithic block, but fitted with moveable arms and back rests that offer more comfort by adjusting them to suit our posture.

A Midsummer Exhibition Dream

As Achille Bonito Oliva teaches us, after gaining a “forgotten memory” of what we saw during the last Milan Furniture Exhibition, we can list the qualities our dream upholstered seating should have with our eyes closed.

Imagine a sofa and an armchair that we can adjust to suit our needs, that are not just a monolithic block, but fitted with moveable arms and back rests that offer more comfort by adjusting them to suit our posture. We dream of a collection which knows how to make new use of materials and details. Let's say we can match different colours depending on the furniture's destination. Colours that range from pastils to unusual chromes and ending up with the most traditional shades.

Imagine being able to change from sofa into day bed, by means of an easy mechanism which re-positions the back rest. Let's hope to make good use of it on different occasions like a formal meeting, or spending an evening entertaining friends and last but not least total relaxation transforming our sofa into a mobile platform with USB connection.

Who could ask for more.

Waking up from this day dream, we realize that SOGNO* is a reality and it is MATRIX INTERNATIONAL's new upholstery collection presented at the last Salone del Mobile in Milan Italy.

SOGNO is available in the 3 seated version L210 P95 H42; the 2 seated version L150 P90 H42; Armchair L80 P90 H42 and dormeuse L95 P150 H42, with two types of back rest and various versions of personalizable arms ( with USB point, lighting and seating surfaces in different materials).

Now SOGNO (dream) is at last a reality.
