Pierre Chareau
Pierre Chareau is one of the most influential Interior architects of the period between the two world wars, and is recognised a key figure of French modern movement.

Chareau began his career in 1914 as a furniture draftsman for the company Waring & Gillow, he established his design atelier in rue Nollet in 1919, an enterprise that he will run in parallel with the shop “La Boutique”launched in 1924 in rue Cherche-Midi.

In his most famous project, the “Maison de Verre” designed in Paris for Doctor Dalsace, the most characterising aspects of his work are found: the research for innovative spatial solutions, the study for new materials, the design of furniture able to adapt to flexible uses.

His appreciation of Avant Guards made him integrate the work of famous artists within his projects.
